Oklahoma City FC announces WPSL staff
Niall Crick joins forces with Danny Gibson for 2024 campaign
OKLAHOMA CITY (April 15, 2024) – Niall Crick joins fellow Scotland native Danny Gibson as co-head coaches for Oklahoma City FC’s 16th of season play in the WPSL. Oklahoma City FC opens the season May 29 versus FC Wichita at Mustang High School.
Crick is in his second season as the women’s soccer head coach at the University of Science & Arts of Oklahoma after spending six seasons as an assistant for USAO men’s and women’s sides. Crick coached Oklahoma Energy Football Club girls and boy’s teams for the past 11 years.. The native of Edinburg, Scotland, Crick came to the United States in 2008 to play collegiate soccer and was a two time All-American at USAO.
Gibson is entering his fourth consecutive season as head coach or co-head coach with Oklahoma City. The club has produced a 11-11-2 record under Gibson’s tutelage and has finished in the top three of the conference standings in all three seasons at the helm. Gibson spent 13 years coaching elite youth teams in the metro-area, spending nine seasons with Oklahoma Energy Football Club and four with Oklahoma Rangers FC. The Glasgow, Scotland native was a four-year starter at USAO from 2007-2010.
Long time Oklahoma City FC midfielder Alissa Jones returns for the second stint as an assistant coach. Jones starred at Troy University from 2011 to 2015 and holds a number of school records, was named All-Sunbelt Conference twice (2014 and 2015) and selected to the NCAA All Region first team in 2014. Jones spent the 2017 season playing professionally in Italy with Ravenna Football Club in Serie A.
Randall Robinson returns to Oklahoma City for his sixth season as goalkeeper coach. Robinson has trained a number of keepers who have gone onto pro careers in the MSL, USL, NWSL and to clubs in Spain, Germany, and Mexico. Robinson has strong ties to collegiate soccer, where he has worked with a number of schools in the state, including Oral Roberts and Oklahoma.
The newcomer to Oklahoma City FC’s 2024 staff is Mustang girls’soccer head coach Shana Gulikers. A four-season starter at the University of Oklahoma from 2007 to 2010, Gulikers has 16 years of experience coaching at the youth level. The Southlake, Texas product is the associate academy director for Oklahoma Celtic Football Club in Norman. Gulikers will serve as an assistant coach with Oklahoma City FC.
The WPSL is the longest tenured and largest women’s soccer league in the world with 142 active team in all four U.S. time zones. In the most recent NWSL College Draft, nearly two-thirds of the selections were WPSL alumnae and half of the current U.S. Women’s National Team honed their skills in the WPSL
