OKLAHOMA CITY FC NAMES COACHES FOR 2016 WPSL SEASON

Zach Bice and Evan Dresel have been named co-head coaches for Oklahoma City FC. The two serve in the same capacity for both the men’s and women’s teams at Mid-America Christian University during the collegiate season.

Oklahoma City FC reached the WPSL National Championship Playoffs last season and this year will be competing in the newly formed Southwest Conference, which includes teams from Austin, Dallas, Houston, Nacogdoches and Tulsa. The WPSL is the largest women’s elite amateur league in the world, with more than 100 teams across North America.

Bice has been the coach at MACU for 10 years, leading the men’s team to the NCCAA national tournament in 2013 and the women’s team to the NCAA nationals in 2014. A native of Moore, Bice played for Norman Celtic and Moore High School. He was an All-State selection his senior year. He holds a Master’s Degree in Leadership Administration from MACU.

Dresel has been at MACU for nine years, six as co-head coach. A graduate of Mustang High School, he completed his playing career at Southern Nazarene University in 2006. While at SNU he was a 2006 first team All-Conference selection and a member of the 2005  NAIA Final Four team. Dresel was also the head coach at Mount St. Mary High School in Oklahoma City.

Ike Emegano will return as assistant coach and Nathan Doll, assistant coach at Oklahoma City University, will also be on the staff.

Oklahoma City FC will open the season May 28 at Pines 1779 on the campus of Stephen F. Austin University in Nacogdoches, TX. The first home match for Oklahoma City FC will be Saturday, June 4 at Lakeview Field in Yukon.
