Jaclyn Purvine scored the game’s first two goals and Oklahoma City FC went on to take a 3-1 victory Saturday in a Women’s Premier Soccer League contest.
Purvine opened the scoring in the fourth minute on a pass from Addison Guthrie and the game remained 1-0 until midway through the second half when Purvine tracked down an errant pass and slipped it past the keeper to give Oklahoma City FC a 2-0 lead in the 68th minute. Purvine went down with leg cramps on the play and had to be helped off the field. She did not return.
Pines 1779 made it interesting late when Kennedy Rose scored to make it 2-1 in the 88th minute, but Pam Caballeros got a cross from Meghan McMahon-Black in stoppage time and tallied the final goal.
Oklahoma City FC, now 6-3-2, hits the road for the final time next week at FC Austin Elite on Saturday and a rematch with Pines 1779 in Nacogdoches, TX on Sunday.
